Playoff fever returns to Westhills Stadium Friday as the Mount Douglas Rams host the Terry Fox Ravens.
Kickoff for the quarterfinal playoff game is 3 p.m.
The Rams are the defending AAA champions and narrowly beat the Ravens during the 2011 playoffs, 44-40.
The Rams earned a first round bye while Terry Fox defeated Centennial 21-20 on Saturday (Nov. 10).
The AA Belmont Bulldogs are out of the playoffs, having suffered a first round loss to the Windsor Dukes at Westhills on Friday 21-14. As crushing as it was, the Bulldogs affirmed themselves as an emerging program with a 4-1 record and home advantage in the playoffs.
The junior AAA Rams are on the road against the Kelowna Owls tomorrow after defeating the Centennial Centaurs 49-0.
The Owls are ranked No. 3 in province, higher than Mount Doug.
"We're anticipating a very tough game," said junior coach Kevin Neary.
Friday's win over Centennial started fairly tight, with the Rams holding a narrow 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Rams picked up steam throughout the rest of the game, and were able to field a lot of non-starters.
"Getting a lot of (our secondary) players involved in a playoff game such as that was great, it's invaluable experience for them," Neary said.
Leading the scoring for the Rams was running back Jesse Woollard, who rushed for two touchdowns. Gavin Cobb caught a number of receptions for a total of 54 yards. Cobb is a receiver, but is also the team's backup quarterback. Later in the game he took over from starting QB Joe Clarke and rushed for a touchdown.
Jonah Merino, Ross Faulkner and Kane Hammontree also scored touchdowns.
